American Water is a utility company that provides water services to millions of customers across a number of states. They offer a number of ways to make a payment on your account, including through the mail, over the phone, online and more.
Option 1: Pay American Water through the Mail
If you would like to pay your bill through the mail, you will need to send your payment to the address listed on the bill you received in the mail.
Option 2: Pay Your American Water Bill Over the Phone
To make a payment on your American Water balance due over the phone, call their pay by phone system by dialing (866) 271-5522. When calling this number to pay your bill, make sure to have your account number ready. You will have to pay a fee for the service. Option 3: American Water Online Payments
You may make a payment on your account online by first signing up for your log in information at the American Water Register page. On that page, you will be asked to enter your American Water account number, what type of customer you are and your name.
On the following pages, you will set up your online information, after which you will be able to log in to make a payment by following these instructions:
- Navigate to amwater.com
- Click the yellow “MY H20 Online” button
- Enter your Login ID and Password
- Click the “Login” button
- Go to the payments section
- Select how much you would like to pay
- Input your billing details
- Submit and verify your payment
Option 4: Make a Payment in Person
To find a location at which you may make an in-person payment on your American Water bill at, go to the American Water Pay In Person Locations web page and enter your information in the box labeled “Find Your Local Information” to conduct the search. If you decide to make a payment using this method, you should take your account number with you to ensure that the payment you submit is properly credited to your account.
Option 5: Miscellaneous American Water Payments
Beyond the payment options for American Water discussed in the bill pay options above, the states that the company operates in may offer additional methods to get your payment in. To find out if there are further options for you, visit their Billing & Payment Information page and select your state from the list. From there, you will be shown all of the available payment methods for customers who live in the state you chose. This state page is also where you will need to go to find the forms to sign up for automatic payments.
